AISHINKA TINKA – STORIES FROM THE FOREST

A storytelling concert from the Balkans, featuring Betsy Dentzer and jazz music inspired by Bulgarian folk song traditions.

On the run from ungrateful and malicious humans, a cow, a rabbit, a donkey, a dog, and a hare decide to live together…

Four Bulgarian animal tales – sometimes funny, sometimes clever, sometimes musical, sometimes dangerous, and sometimes just plain silly. All of this is served with a generous helping of Aishinka, a hybrid music project blending jazz, traditional Bulgarian music, classical elements, and urban sounds. The foundation consists of three female voices with original polyphony and partly raw textures, complemented by soprano saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums.
